Happy New Year and welcome back to Studio Orsay Parnell. Term 1 of 2026 will officially begin on Tuesday, 3 February.
Over the past year, our students have shown remarkable growth and achieved wonderful results. We are incredibly proud of their dedication, creativity, and progress.

From budding artists to young talents, our focus lies in nurturing their creative development. Beyond teaching art techniques, we foster critical thinking and innovative capabilities, guiding aspiring young minds toward becoming cultural pioneers of tomorrow. More than an educational space, we are a launchpad for artistic expression, igniting imagination, creativity, and self-awareness in our students.

Welcome to our flexible learning program! With no fixed start or end times, you have the freedom to choose when to attend our courses during our two open hour time slots
(2.5 hours and 4 hours).
You only need to ensure a minimum of
1.5 hours of learning time per session, and there are no additional charges for staying longer.

Art Classes
We offer art and painting courses for all age groups, ranging from beginner to academic level.

Oil Pastel
Age: 5-7yrs
Level 1 5-6yrs
Level 2 6-7yrs
Oil pastel courses provide basic painting concepts and color application for children aged 5 to 7 as an introductory and enlightening option.

Manga
Age: 8yrs+
Level 1 Traditional Manga Drawing
Level 2 Digital Drawing
This is a diverse comic course that uses various tools such as hand drawing and digital drawing to enhance children's interest in drawing while improving their ability to handle shapes and compositions.

Sketch
Age: 9yrs+
Level 1 Single and multiple geometric shapes
Level 2 Still life drawing
Level 3 plaster portrait drawing
Sketch course offers three levels of training. Level 1 focuses on training in single and multiple geometric shapes, while Level 2 covers still life drawing. Finally, Level 3 offers training in plaster head portrait drawing practice.

Adult Art Class
Born for passion. Offering diverse art forms such as watercolour, acrylic painting, sketch, digital tablet drawing, oil painting and more. Creating a free and deeply engaging artistic atmosphere, allowing adult students to explore, rediscover and refine their drawing knowledge and aesthetics.

Painting
Age: 8yrs+
Level 1-2 Acrylic Painting
Level 3 Oil Painting
Level 3 Watercolour
Painting course is divided into Level 1 and 2. Level 1 focuses on acrylic paint and trains students in colour painting. Each term, students explore different themes and learn about famous art movements throughout history.

Design Course
Age: 15yrs+
A design-specific introductory course tailored to students studying design and portfolio preparation. It teaches students how to conduct research and develop essential design skills using tools and critical thinking.

Craig Yang, Year 13
Congratulations to Craig on successfully completing his Year 13 Design coursework and portfolio with excellent results, and on gaining admission to the Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Auckland.
Chloe You, Eden Hui, Year 7-8
Congratulations to Chloe and Eden on being awarded their school’s Annual Art Awards in recognition of their outstanding artistic achievement.
Zara Nausbaum, Year 12
Congratulations to Zara on achieving exceptional results in their 2025 Art coursework, with selected works exhibited in the school art exhibition and acquired for the school collection.
UWEE International Art Exhibition, Paris
26 students participated in and were selected for international competitions, with their artworks exhibited at the Louvre Museum.
Gemma Jiang, Year 3
Congratulations to Gemma Jiang on winning the Overseas First Prize in the 2025 JQA International Environmental Children’s Drawing Competition.
Gemma was also awarded First Place in the 2025 National Party Christmas Card Cover Design, with the prize personally presented by Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and MP Nancy Lu, followed by a commemorative photo.
